Aberavon AED SquadThe National 3 Peaks Challenge
We are over the moon to be supporting the guys who are going to be attempting to do the National 3 peak Challenge, Afan United F.C and the Aberavon Beach Defibrillators have both teamed up to take on the National 3 peaks challenge.
The National 3 peaks is arguably the most popular hiking challenge in the United Kingdom and is a challenge we have completed quite a few times, to summit the tallest mountains of Scotland (Ben Nevis) England (Scafell Pike) and then Wales (Snowdon) is a serious task of any one, to do them all in one day is quite an achievement, the lads have chosen to hit the Ben first and finish on Snowdon, my personal preference as the roads are empty coming down from Scotland to the lake district,
On the day the group will face.
26 Miles of walking
10,052ft of Ascent
462 miles of driving
You can follow them and their fantastic efforts on facebook
Or if you would like to make a donation please click here
The challenge will be to summit all three mountains in under 24 hours, after a drive up to Scotland we will tackle ben nevis, the route is below or can be downloaded here
After getting the ben out of the way the lads will be able to get a rest while being driven to Grasmere in the Lake District where an early morning ascent of Scafell Pike awaits....
The route can be seen below or downloaded here
Once Scafell is out of the way its on the bus after a bit of lunch and head down while we drive too Snowdonia where our final climb will be Snowdon via the Pyg Track, the route can be found below or can be dowloaded here
